Small Addition To Import Licences For Tyres And Tubes

WELLINGTON, Last Night (P.A.) —The same allocation of licerjces to import tyres and tubes of sizes not made in New Zealand will be granted this year, as last year, according to information from the Customs Department. In addition, licences will be granted for the importation, up to March 31 only, of sizes that are made locally to an extent of one third of the allocation pertaining to non-locally made tyres.

The latter provision, stated a tyre importer tonight, will not greatly increase supplies, as the allocation of licences for tyres not made locally was based on 10 per cent, of the Dominion's lot al requirements.
