10,000 Colt Revolvers Going From Bangkok To Siam Intercepted
BANGKOK, Jan. 31 (Recd. 6 p.m.) —Ten thousand colt revolvers which were being smuggled into Siam for the Chinese Communist underground, were seized by the authorities last night on the Bangkok river wharf. The revolvers were recovered from cases shipped to Bangkok from Hongkong. The majority of the cases hadbeen passed by Customs inspectors for removal from lhe wharf. When an official smashed one of them open new revolvers in factory packings, tumbled out. It is learned from authoritative sources in Bangkok that the consignees were a group of prominent Bangkok merchants, most of whom are reported to have fled the city.— Reuter.
