Death Of Mr. T. B. Strong, Former Director Of Education
WELLINGTON. Yesterday (PA). The death occurred today of Theo. B. Strong, aged 79, a former Director of Education. Born in London, Mr Strong came to New Zealand as a child and was educated at the Waimate District High School and the University ol Otago. After 15 years’ teaching in South Canterbury, Gisborne and Wanganui he was appointed in 1904 as inspector of schools under the Wanganui Education Board. In 1915 Mr Strong became senior inspector for the Wanganui district and in 1920 became chief inspector ol primary schools for New Zealand. In 1926 he was appointed AssistantDirector of Education, and in 1927 Director, reti.ing in 1933.
