MANGAWEKA SALE

The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co. report on the Mangaweka sale held recently: A yarding well up to advertised numbers came forward, lambs comprising the bulk of the entry. There was a large bench of buyers from the Ohakune, Taihape, Rangitikei, Manawatu, and local districts, who bid freely for good quality shorn wether lambs, which met with strong competition and sold up to 28s Id, while several other lines realised 28s. Medium lambs sold at late rates, while medium shorn ewe lambs were knocked down at 345. In all cases vendors met the market. and a total clearance was effected.

Following were the prices realised: Shorn wether lambs, 22s 6d to 28s Id; shorn ewe lambs, 31s 3d to 345; shorn b.f. lambs, 28s 9d; cull lambs, 10s to 18s; two-tooth wethers, 27s 3d.
