A. Ross Wins Final Of Open Croquet Championship
AUCKLAND, Last Night (P.A.l— final of the open championship in the New Zealand croquet tournament was won today by A. Ross (Rangiwahia). Tirk (Geraldine) won the first game by 21 points but Ross took the next two games 26-9, 26-13. The match provided a good exhibition of long shooting, Watkins (Hastings) beat Bryan (Hutt) in a semi-final of the men's championship 26-21, 26-0, and then went on to win the final against Wadsworth (Auckland) 26-15, 26-7. Mrs. Kirk (Geraldine) beat Mrs. Threadgold (Buckland) in the women’s championship 26-21. 6-26, 26-9.
