Batavia’s Name Changed To Jacarta
BATAVIA, Dee. 27 (Reed. 12.5 am). —The city of Batavia henceforth will be named Jacarta. This was announced by the Indonesian Military Governor today. Jacarta is the name of an oid Indonesian city on the site whereon the Dutch built’Batavia nearly 300 years ago.
