Good Progress In Road Repairs In Buller Gorge

WESTPORT, Last Night (PA).— Good work has been done by the Works Department in filling in the gap on the Buller Gorge Road caused by a big washout on Sunday night, and it is now anticipated that the highway will be reopened for traffic tomorrow night.

Thousands of yards of material have bee n blown from adjacent hillsides and pushed into the gap by bulldozers. It is expected, however, that it. will take a week to complete the railway gap near Cascade, caused by another washout on the same evening. It is estimated that mare than 6000 yards of material will have to be used to fill the 90 feet break in formation. Today gangs of men cleared other slips on the line and work on the major job will be started tomorrow.
