R.S.A. Little Theatre

The R.S.A. Little Theatre will present two one-act plays in the Repertory Theatre tonight. In his last quarterly report tor 1949 the president. of the Wanganui R.S.A. (Mr H. R. Gilberd) states that this band of enthusiastic members are to ty? congratulated on their efforts, which give su much pleasure to themselves, members and the general public. The Little Theatre expects to stage a major production early next year. Display Of Work. The display of work by pupils of the Wanganui Technical College will be held at the college today. The display is said to be up to the high standard of previous years and practical work from all classes will be shown. Considerable interest will probably be taken in the art section, which contains some good work. The recently re-modelled and re-equipped workshops will be open for inspection. The display will be on view from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. Visit To Ohakea.

Eighty cadets of the Wanganui Technical College Air Training Corps will visit Ohakea today. The cadets will be taken to Ohakea by troop carriers leaving in the morning and returning home late in the afternoon. It is hoped that a number of the cadets will be given flights. Cadets of the Army Corps will hold a field day at the Putiki rifle range. Particular attention will be given to musketry and fleldcraft and senior cadets will receive bren gun carrier instruction.

Rainfall at Bulls Rainfall at Bulls for November was 3.24 in,, according to records kept Dy Mr K. W. Dalrympie, Parewanui. Bulls. Rain fell on 12 days. Municipal Waste Support for the Wanganui Humic Compost Club in its efforts to have municipal waste composted in the city was given by the Wanganui Provincial Executive of Federated Farmers, which submitted the following resolution to the Wanganui City Council at its monthly meeting last night: “That, this section supports the Compost Club in its appeal to the City council for the retention of humus from collections of town waste, in an endeavour to alleviate the serious shortage of organic manures as a measure of increasing production ot vegetables for the consumer public.” North Island Tennis Tourney. All championship events will be the best of three advantage sets.
