BRITISH VAMPIRE FIGHTERS SUPPLIED TO ITALY

LONDON, Nov 30 (Recd 8 pm).— Another important stage in the standardisation of the air forces of Western and Commonwealth countries with British jet fighters was reached today when an agreement was signed for the supply to Italy of Vampire fighters and for the manufacture of De Havilland fighters and engins in Italy under licence.

Italy is the tenth country to acquire Vampires for its defence. “The Times’ ” aeronautical correspondent says the importance of the purchase of Vampires by so many overseas countries is that they are not only standardising on a current typo, but can be assured of developments from it for use in the future.
