SOCIAL EVENING HELD BY MEMBERS OF SMALL BORE RIFLE CLUB
Trophies won in the past season were presented at a social evening held recently by members of the Wanganui Citizens’ Miniature Rifle Club. The club captain, Mr T. Lawton, congratulated the various winners on their successes and mentioned that the Citizens’ Club had proved its ability in open competition, individual members having been to the fore in competitions outside the parent association. Trophies presented were: Senior championship, S. Fowler; intermediate championship, Mrs. I. Goldsmith; first year Championship, G. Thompjunior championship, G. Thompson; son; ladies’ championship, Mrs. I. Goldsmith. Points shield is shared by S. Fowler and F. Loveridge. The season’s aggregate was won by E. Hughes. Young Cup, J. Timbs; Spurdie Cup, L. Springer; Hughes Cup, S. Fowler; special trophies (won outright), S. Fowler, F Loveridge, W. Conway, R. Kelly and P. Kelly. PRESENTATIONS AT R.S.A. CLUB The presentation of prizes and final shoot of the year of the Wanganui R.S.A. Club was held on the R.S.A. range on Saturday night, when an interesting own handicap competition was won by F. Williamson, with T. Burgess as runner-up. Prizes for the season were wan as follows: A grade championship: E. Henry 787.46, A. Climo 778.40, J Loveridge 776.44. A grade handicap: J. Loverdige 1591 : 1, A. Climo 1589, C. C. Gibbard 1586 L B grade championship: A. Fowler 778.39, J. O’Keeffe 750.24, F. Williamson 750.18. B grade handicap: J. O’Keeffe 15732 F. Williamson 15712, A. Fowler 15702. Dart championship: R. Wells 1605, H. Sharpe 1587, O. Warnock 1586. E. Loveridge Memorial Cup: J. Loveridge 1929.85, A. Climo 1928.85. E. Henry 1926.94. Warnock trophy: W. H Fowler 300.21, I. Burgess 299.26, O. Warnock 299.25.
