WANGANUI SCHOOLS’ END-OF-YEAR PRIZEGIVING CEREMONIES
The following are the dates 01 school prize-givings and end of terms for Wanganui schools:— Wednesday, December 7: .~t Augustine's High School 7.30 p.m., prizegiving in school assembly hall. Thursday, December 8: Wanganui Girls’ College, 7.30 p.m., prize-giving in school assembly hall. The speaker has not yet been arranged. There will be the usual end-of-year functions at the college. The Wanganui Collegiate School prize-giving will ho held in "Big School ’ on Saturday night, December 10, when the guest speaker will be the Rt. Rev. R. H. Owen, Bishop of Welling! on. St. George’s Preparatory School will end the term on the afternoon of Monday, December 12, when the prizes will be presented by Mr G. F. McGrath, for many years on the teaching staff of the Collegiate School. The Sacred Heart Convent, St. John’s Hill, will end the term on either December 9 or 10. There will be no exhibition of work this year, but a religious play will be held in the school assembly hall on December 8. The Wanganui Technical College will hold its end-of-year ceremony in the Opera House on Tuesday, December 13, when the guest speaker will be Mr W. A. Armour, a lormer principal of the school, and vho was for many years headmaster .4 Wellington College. The New Zealand Friends' School, St. John’s Hill, will end the year on December 15. The annual concert will be held on December 3. Primary schools in tile Wanganui Education Board district eiose oa Friday, December 16.
