ATHLETIC TWILIGHT SPORTS TONIGHT; CYCLING HANDICAPS

| Under the control of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling I Club another series of twilight sports 'will be held on Cook’s Gardens tonight. Sprint events will be over 75 yards. Other events will be: Women’s 220yds. senior and junior 352yd5., senior mile, senior, junior, and women’s high jump, discus, and pole vault. For cyclists handicap races will be over a quarter of a mile and one mile. The third event on the night will be a points race. Highlighting the early boys' and girls’ races will be relay events for which teams of four are expected to enter from the various schools. These races will be in three age groups—--10-12 years, 12-14 years, 14-16 years. These cycling handicaps were declared today by the club handicapper, Mr. E. Pidwell:— Quarter-mile. —First heat: C. Dickinson scr., G. Sharrock 10yds., G. Pidwell and T. Philpot 30 yars, N. Cheatley and C. Owens 40yds., B. Masters Second heat: G. Wakely scr.- .B. Carlyon 10, A. Sharrock 30, H. Pidwell and A. Higgs 35, I. Smithies 50. Third heat: F. Clinton scr., W. Main 25. K. Neilson and C. Martin 40, W. Clarke 45. C. Urwin 50. One mile handicap: C. Dickinson, G. Wakely and F. Clinton scr., G. Sharrock, B. Carlyon 50. W. Main 125, G. Pidwell, A. Sharrock, T. Philpot 130, A. Higgs, K. Neilson, C. Martin, N. Cheatley, H. Pidwell, B. Masters 180- W. Clarke 185, C. Owens, I. Smithies, and C.
