MAN BURNED TO DEATH IN HIS ROOM

DUNEDIN. Last Night, (P.A.) -A resident of Milton met a tragic death in the early hours of the morning when lhe rooms he occupied were gutted by fire. He was Archibald McDonald Whytock. aged 40. plumber. The fire was first discovered by a nearby resident about. 3.10 a.m. The building was an old one and the tire had a strong hold by the time the brigade arrived. The outbreak apparently started in the bedroom which was gutted. Other parts of the building were also badly damaged. The charred remains of Whytock were found in the bedroom. An inquest was opened and was adjourned sine die to enable a post-mortem examination Io be conducted.
