SANDY’S CORNER
HE KNOWS. Sydney market gardener William Boyd knows all about weather prediction. He was a meteorologist with th e Royal Australian Air Force during the war and when other gardeners are wringing their hands and reviling tricky weather, his goods go trundling to the market regularly. He consults:—One employee who watches the behaviour of his pet frogs. Another employee who listens to the singing of a pet. cricket, and his own. corns and his sciatica. Our belief is that, tlie latter consultant proves the most reliable. PETE AND SID IN WONDERLAND. Mr. Fraser has asked Mr. Holland a series of questions. Mr. Holland says he has answered enough questions as it is, a nd he does not intend to answer Mr. Fraser's "Quiz.'’ How like Father William in "Alice in Wonderland." "I have answered three questions, that is enough," said Sid Holland "don't give yourself airs!” "Do yon think I can listen all dav to such stuff?" "Be off, or I’ll kick you downstairs."
