K. BROOKS WINS MEDAL ECLECTIC AT WANGANUI GOLF CLUB

A medal eclectic was (played by members of the Wanganui Golf Club at the week-end, some excellent cards being returned. In winning the A grade medal K. Brooks played excellent golf over the second nine holes to come home in 34, giving him a 74, nett 66 for the round. Results were as follows: A Grade: K. Brooks, 74, 8, 66; E. Moss, 77, 8, 69; A. D. Barber, 77, 8, 69. B Grade: H. R. Gilberd 84, 15, 69; L. W. Udy, 898, 17, 72; W. T. Kendrick, 89, 17, 72. The last eclectic round for the season was played in conjunction with the above medal round, results for the series being as follow: Senior: M. J. Thornton 61, F. C. Hutchison 63, U. G. Williams 63, F. V. Wigoens 64. Middleweight- M. Gordon 69, F. G. Respinger 70, P. E. Ogier 71, H. R. Gilberd 72. Junior: R. L. Bradley 74. W. T. Kendrick 77, D. A. Cameron 78. The Kellick trophy for the best eclectic over the season after reduction of half the player’s handicap, was won by M. J. Thornton by half a point from F. V. Wiggins, scores being 691 and 60 respectively.
