Girl Guide Gathering At Aramoho
As part of the Guid e Week celebrations, a large gathering of Girl . Guides, Scouts and parents, spent an , enjoyable evening on Monday at St. Laurence's Hall, Aramoho. Oflicial visitors to the gathering ; were Miss E. Brown, district commis- : sioner, Miss Cook, district captain and ! Mrs. C. R. White, president of the ' local association. They were weii corned by t he captain, Mrs B. Bowyer and Lieutenant Miss S. Russ. After the ceremonial investiture of leaders and seconds, Miss Brown presented Miss J. Sewell the retiring captain with a book on behalf of the Guides. Appreciation was expressed of the work done by Miss Sewell during a time when th e company was in danger of going into recess. Miss Sewell, in reply, spoke of the loyalty and keenness of the girls and wished them success in their future Guiding days. I Games and demonstrations of Guide ' activities followed. The spirit of i Guiding and Scouting was evident in
th e smiling faces of I.’:* boys and 1 girls as tney joined in a jolly campi fire. Supper was served and the I evening closed with the singing of Vespers and Taps.
