POLICE SAID TO BE GUARDING FARM IN MOA CREEK AREA
DUNEDIN, Last Night (PA).—The murderer of William Fraser Mclntosh 63-year-old Moa Creek farmer, is still at large and Superintendent J. Mclntyre, who is in charge of operations, said tonight that there had been no fresh developments. In the biggest and most thorough man hunt carried out in Otago in recent years, a large force of detectives and constables, with the assistance of two outside officers, again combed a large area in Central Otago today. They were looking for a weapon which had been used early on the afternoon of Wednesday last. Chief Detective F. J. Brady, of Christchurch, and Senior-Detective J. W. Hill, of Timaru, arrived at Moa Creek today. Both these officers have been prominent in recent murder cases in the north. The police are living at the Moa Creek and Poolburn hotels, but the Mclntosh residence is being used as headquarters during the day. It is reported that a police guard has been placed over a tarn! in the Moa Creek district. No official announcement, however, has been made about this.
