Wanganui Golf Club Successfully Defends The Wilson Cup
The Wanganui Golf Club successfully withstood a challenge from the Manawatu Golf Club for the Wilson Cup in a match played a t the Belmont links at the week-end by eight matches to three, with one game halved.
In an inter-club match played at the sam etime, the Wanganui senior team defeated the Palmerston North players by 21 matches to 12. The top twelve players in each team competed for the Wilson Cup in the singles played in the afternoon.
Conditions at Belmont were difficult owing to the very strong \vesterly wind prevailing, but the course itself was in excellent order, which augers well for the tournament to bq played at Belmont this week.
