Wellington Has A Convincing Win Over Manawatu At Rugby
WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). —A carefree spring feeling went into the play of the Wellington Rugby team which, on Saturday beat Manawatu 40-17. Refreshingly enthusiastic and varied methods brought the team Its biggest win over Manawatu for 28 years. A warm, windless day and a hard ground tested the fitness of the heavy forwards. The home forwards were better adjusted than Manawatu, handed their backs everything on a platter and must claim more than the average share of the winning total. The backs did all thy were required to do and a bit more. Seldom wer e they at a loss for ideas if the attack broke down.
