YOUNG IMMIGRANT BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN POISONED

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).--Believed to have been poisoned, a young English immigrant living at a boarding house at Blockhouse Bay, collapsed and died shortly after 7 pm. on Saturday. He was: Gordon James Pepper, aged 23, a pottery worker. The victim, who arrived in the Atlantis last June, shortly after the evening meal complained to the other men at the house that he was feeling, unwell. He went to leave the kitchen when he fell on the floor in a violent convulsion. He was dead when a doctor arrived. Traces of poison were found in a post mortem examination and handed to the Government analyst, Mr. K. M. Griffin, for report. Further enquiries are being carried on by detectives, headed by DetectiveSergeant Fell.
