PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Rangitikei County Council, held on the Bth day of September, 1949, it was resolved by way of Special Order that in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by “The Counties Act, 1920,” "The Public Works Act, 1928,” and “The Land Drainage Act, 1908,” and by the several Amendments of the said Acts and of every other power it in this oehalf enabling, the Council should make and ordain By-Laws with the object of controlling and effecting the maintenance, cleaning and repair of all drains and watercourses within the Upper Whangaehu Valley (Haunul) and Lower Whangaehu Valley (Rakautaua) Drainage Districts in the County of Rangitikei and the removal of obstructions therefrom and the maintenance and repair of all crossings over such drains and watei’courses and providing for the enforcement of such By-Laws and the imposition of penalties for their breach, and providing for the extension ol such By-Laws to additional Drainage Districts within the County from time to time. The said Resolution will be submitted for confirmation at a Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Marton, at 10 a.m. on the 13th October, 1949, at which Meeting the date of coming into operation of the By-Laws will be fixed. A full copy of the said proposed Special Order and By-Laws is deposited at the Office of the said Council situate in High Street, Marton, and such copy will remain open to inspection of the public during office hours and without fee from the present date until the said confirming meeting is held.
