ALL THE BRITISH ELIMINATED IN U.S. AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPS

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (Recd. 6pm). —All the British competitors have been eliminated from the United States amateur golf championship being played on the Oakhill course at Rochester, New York. Three members of the British Walker Cup team, James Bruen, Gerald Micklem and Ernest Milward were beaten in the first round by little-known players. Two more, Max McCready and Ronnie White, were beaten in the second round, again by unknown players. P. Lucas, Joseph Carr and Kenneth r Thom were beaten in the third round and the last British competitor was eliminated when 19-year-old Arthur Perowne was beaten one up by William Campbell in the fourth round. Today's star match was the third round game between Skee Riegel and Frank Stranahan, which Riegel won 3 and 2.
