AGA KHAN REPLACES GIFT FILLY GIVEN TO PRINCESS ELIZABETH

LONDON, July 25 Because it has been found that his wedding gift to Princess Elizabeth, th e Turkhan filly Astrakan, will not stand training, the Aga Rhan has asked the Princess to select another horse from his stables. The Princess and representatives have chosen a Stardust filly out of a young mare called Bellinzona. The filly is the first foal of Bellinzona, which has won three races at Newmarket as a two-year-old in 1945. The sire of Bellinzona was the 1938 Derby winner, Bois Roussel, and her dam, Diala, came from Diadem, which won the 1000 guineas in 1917. According to the “Daily Telegraph,” the Princess has decided upon her racing colours, though they have not yet been registered. They will be a variation of the Royal colours of purple with gold broad, scarlet sleeves and a gold fringed black cap.—Special N.Z P.A. Correspondent.
