Blomfield v. Holmback; All Holds In, None Barred

DUNEDIN, Last Night (PA).—lt was a case of all holds in and nothing barred when Lofty Blomfield, 17.3, met Eric Holmbak, 18.12, at the Town Hall tonight. Holmback mixed showmanship with rough-house tactics, relying mainly on strength to secure the first fall in the fourth round with dumps and a body press. Blomfield evened up in the sixth with his octopus clamp, but the seventh round endu'd almost in a riot, Holmbak storming from the corner like a man possessed, with fists and knees flying. The referee ordered him to desist, but Holmbak kept boring in and was disqualified. the bout being awarded to Blomfield. The referee left the ring, but Holmbak tore across to Blomfield’s corner and started to mix it with Lofty and did not desist until the president of the Olago Wrestling Association Mr Anderson same across and admonished him.
