Infant Drowned In Swamp; Tragic Circumstances

INVERCARGILL, Last Night (PA). —Unusually tragic circumstances attended the death by drowning at. Colac Bay yesterday of Gordon Kaitai McDonald, arred two and a-half, son of Mr and Mrs G. A. McDonald, of Winton. The parents had gone to Color Bay to attend the funeral of Wallace Crengle. aged 16, who died of injuries received about 12 years ago when he was crushed between two trucks. While they were waiting in the house the child went out to play with a small girl cousin, who returned to say the boy .would not budge from the road. During her absence Gordon tried to cross the paddock towards the house and fell into a deep swamp, where he was drowned.
