Accommodation in Wanganui hotels and bdarding-houses is fully taxed for the King's Day week-end holiday, and people seeking late reservations are finding it a problem to obtain lodgings over the period. It was ascertained yesterday that accommodation at the majority of hotels has been booked for several weeks past, because of the attractions i/1 the city, which include the two days of the winter meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club and the Rugby representative match between Wanganui an<i Taranaki on the Monday morning. In addition, this year Wanganui is the venue for the North Island golf tournament, which has attracted all the leading players of the island. . On Sunday night the members of the Taranaki Rugby team will arrive in the city and will be accommodated at a city hotel. It w*as stated yesterday that although accommodation is fully booked, the position was not as desperate as it was at Easter, when several parties had to go to motor camps, and to hotels in adjacent country districts.
