Ringside Seats At Opera House Have Been Renovated

The portion of the ringside seating accommodation at the Opera House which collapsed while a boxing tournament was in progress last week, did so because it was not properly erected, an officer of the Wanganui WrestFng Association stated yesterday. Four supports had not been put in position and the absence of them allowed the stand to sway sideways and collapse. The whole of the ringside accommodation has since been inspected by a Wanganui City Council inspector and a few boards have been replaced to make the stands secure, it was stated. The stands belong to the Wrestling Association and are put into ■forage during the summer months. A spokesman of the Wrestling Association stated yesterday that the spectators at wrestling bouts were covered by insurance.
