Two Matches On Monday
On Monday next, June 6, King’s Day, the annual representative Rugoy matches between W anganui and Taranaki will be played, tne A match at Wanganui in the morning, prior to the Wanganui races, and the B match at New Plymouth in the afternoon. The Wanganui Union’s selection committee has chosen the following teams'for these engagements:— Wanganui A. (To play at Wanganui). Full-back: G. Sherlock (R). Three-quarters: P. Hughes (Wav.), J. Hickling (P), A. Webby (T. 0.8. Five-eighths: M. Hunter (W.0.8.), Les Head (P) 2nd. Half-back: M. Dixon (P). Back of scrum: D. Morrison (R). Sides: D. Beard (P) capt., H. Rowley (R). Locks: B. Pedley (P), D. Grant (T. 0.8. Front row: E. Oulsnan (T), R. Dallison (Wav.), S. Granville (T. 08. Reserves: D. Goldsbury (T. 0.8. and N. Brown (P) forwards; D. McCarthy (T) and J. Taunton (P), backs. Ball-boy: H. Pidwell. Wanganui B. To play at New Plymouth. Full-back: N. Wallace (M). Three-quarters: T. Goldsmith (R), S. Sinclair CD, G. Smith (W.08.) Five-eighths: G. Luoni (K), M. Connor (R) Ist. There are to be practice runs on Spriggens Park at 5 o’clock on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The B team will leave Martin and Vernon’s at 5.30 p.in. on Sunday. Any players not available are asked to notify Mr. S. R. Ambrose (2332) immediately.
