COMMANDER SCOTT WINS MAIN ADDINGTON TROT

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (P.A.) —The Canterbury Park Trotting Club held its winter meeting at Addington on Saturday before a good attendance. The weather was overcast and showery but the track was in good order throughout. Palava, which had been off the winning list since he won the Hawera Trotting Cup in 1948, returned his supporters a win dividend of more than £3 when he won the Fendalton Handicap. An inquiry was held into an accident in the Addington Handicap. After hearing the evidence of W. Todd, driver of Kiatoa, and K. E. Tarrant, driver of Probable, the stewards decided to fine Tarrant £lO for careless driving. The totalisator handled £100,559, compared with £115,386 last year. Results are:—
