Canadian Seamen In Court For The Second Time
WELLINGTON. Last Night (PA). —For the second time in less lhan a fortnight members of the crew of the Canadian ship Tridale, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of disobeying the lawful command of the master of their ship. Today’s charge was laid under a different section of the New Zealand Shipping and Seamen's Act. That invoked at the previous hearing alleged the men culpable of continuing to disobey the lawful commands of the master in that when asked on two occasions to take the Tridale to sea they refused. At the first hearing the men were convicted and ordered to forfeit 14 days’ pay by Mr. Goulding, S-M. For the defendants, Mr. P. C. P. McGavin asked for a remand, which Mr. Hanna, S.M., granted till Monday. They were released on bail. Mr. E. D. Blundell appeared for the Triton Shipping Company, Montreal, the owners of the vessel.
