Husband And Wife Killed By Train And Son Badly Hurt

MELBOURNE, May 5 (Rec. 8.30 p.m.)—A husband and wife were killed instantly and their son, aged 20, was seriously injured when the crack inter-State train, .Spirit of Progress, bound from Albury for Melbourne, struck their car and caravanon an open level crossing near Violet Town. The son, who apparently was in the caravan, was unconscious when lifted from the wreckage. The train hit the tail of the car and carried the wreckage of the car and caravan 50 yards before hurling it to each side of the track.
