Plunket Society Annual Meeting At the 34th. annual meeting of the Hunterville Plunket Society, Mrs. L. Lamoert presided. present were: Mesdames S. McAUey, Pitcaithly, G. Simpson, Harmyn, V. Aidworth, Butement, A. Lambert, K. Scott, E. H. Duncan, M. Ross, A. Chisholm, McIlroy, Hunger, Leask, Grace, L. bull, Hogg, Renshaw, Cook, Barren, Kilmis.er and Nurse Suddaby. Apologies were received Horn Mesdames F. Powell, H. Hare (Rata), D. Simpson, I Adkins, R. Craig, J. Aocl, il. Lourie, L. J. Thompson, ndy (Marlon), Weston Snr., J. Johnstone, Crichton and Still. The election of officers took place, and the loliowing were electea lor th e ensuing year. Patroness, Mrs. T. A. Duncan; president, Mrs. L. Lambert; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Abel, Pitcaithly, S. McAUey, E. H. Duncan, Weston Snr., and G. Grace; Committee, Mesdames Leask, Adkins, Carswell, Mcllroy, L. Bull, Hunger Harnlyn, Weston Jnr., Mclntyre, Craig, A. Lambert, F. Powell, A. Me-’ Alley, K. Scott, M. Ross, A. Renshaw, Butement, Aldworlh and Chisholm; secretary, Mrs. B. Kilmister.

The president welcomed all present, ’especially the visitors from Marton, Miss Cook, Mrs. Barton and the Plunket Nurse. During the meeting the Plunket Nurse expressed regret that so few mothers from the town were taking an interest in Plunket work. Miss Suddaby spoke on prenatal work, and said she would be pleased to interview mothers-to-be and offer any help and advice that is needed. A series of lectures is to be given in tire Plunket rooms commencing on May 12 at 7.30 p.m. The lectures will be on Mothercraft and will last approximately one and a-quarter hours. They will be hel ( ( every fortnight and all who are interested are asked to contact the secretary by

ringing 74J. Miss Cook, who was closely associated with Sir Truby King, the founder of the Plunket Society, gave an interesting talk on the society from its foundation days and its progress, up until its modern methods o£ today. Sh e was accorded a hearty vote of thanks by all present.
