CANADA HAS RATIFIED N. ATLANTIC PACT

OTTAWA, April 30 (Recd. 7pm).— The House of Commons unanimously ratified the North Atlantic Pact lastnight. The Senate had done so on Thursday. The House’s approval followed a statement by the Prime Minister (Mr. St. Laurent) that the Pact had already produced some easing of the “cold war” tension.

Mr. George Drew, the Progressive Conservative leader, said he felt the fact that India was staying in the Commonwealth would extend the principles ctf the pact to Asia.
