Trades Council Will Not Recognise New Carpenters’ Union
AUCKLAND. Last Night (P.A.)— A decision not to recognise the new carpenters’ union was made by the Auckland Trades Council last night. A resolution moved by Mr. A. Drennan. vice-president of the Watersiders’ Union, tnat the council would not recognise any “scab" organisation, and deploring the action of the Minister of Labour (Mr. McLagan) in introducing dual unionism, was carried by 81 votes to 69.
