Commonwealth Emigration Report Due Soon
LONDON, April 22 (Rec. 6 pm).— The report of a Royal Commission on population, which is to be released in about a fortnight’s time, contains a study of Commonwealth emigration and its effects upon the United Kingdom. It will stress the difficulties in the way of any large-scale emigration of young people from Britain in the light of the fact that the proportion of people over 60 years of age is likely shortly to rise sharply. It is probable ‘hat the Dominion’s Prime Ministers, at present in London, will be informed f the terms of the report during their •sit. —Special N.Z.P.A. Correspond.it.
