Name Suppressed.

“So that you will be given every opportunity I shall suppress your name,” said Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., addressing a young man charged in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, yesterday, with drunkenness and obtaining liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. When defendant’s father applied for suppression of the name, the magistrate said that these matters were purely personal. “It is not so much a crime as an offence against himself,” the magistrate added. Defendant was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months, if called on. On the second charge he was convicted and discharged.
