MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN BOARD HUNTERVILLE. Last Night (OC). —A number of ratepayers in the board's area had not complied with the regulations or taken heed of notices sent out ts> them and had not removed noxious weeds from their property, stated the noxious weeds inspector in a letter to the Hunterville Town Board, at its monthly meeting last week. He asked for permission to take action against the offenders, which was granted. The Chamber of Commerce wrote suggesting that entrance to alleyways be marked off as "no parking” areas, and that a pedestrian crossing be instituted from the Plunket Room to the footpath. In both cases it was left to the works committee to inspect, and to seek advice of the traffic inspector regarding the pedestrian crossing. In reply to a question regarding the water restrictions, the chairman, Cmr. R. A. Gordon, stated that it definitely meant that hoses were not to be used for any purpose. He explained the water position at both Glenmorvin and Rangatira reservoirs and the need to conserve the supply. HOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING Congratulations to Mrs. Hanson on gaining representative honours last season and attending the Dominion tournament at Duneain, were extended by the president, Mr R. W. Ha.ulyn at tlie annual meeting of the Hunterville Women's Hockey Club. Mr. Hamlyn said the club did remarkably well last year, having been raised to senior status. Officers elected were: President, Mr R. Hamilyn; vice-presidents, Rev. E. Dyson, Messrs Wallis and Hanson; coaches, Mrs. Hanson (senior), Misses Betty Wallis and Edith Coleman (junior); secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Watson and Miss F. McLachlan; delegate to the Rangitikei Hockey As. sociation, Mrs. Hanson; ground committee, Messrs J. Duncan, J. Kronast, D. Hanson, C. N. Wallis; club captain, Miss Fay McLachlan; vice-captain, Miss M. Moore. It was decided that senior members supply their own uniforms. The committee decided to help teams with travelling expenses. A trophy is to be donated to tlie most improved junior player during the season. The Rev. E. Dyson was nominated as an umpire to the association. football at rata. In the opening football match of the season Rata defeated the Rangiwaiiia Club by 25 points to six after a display ot brilliant and open lootball. The members of the junior team are to hold a practice tomorrow (Wednesday) night, when jersey num* hers will be issued. The coach lias asked that all players and intending junior members attend this practice so that arrangements for the opening competition games on Saturday, can be completed.
