Wanganui Rugby season Is To Begin Next Saturday
COMMENT ON CLUB PROSPECTS
.Rugby will start in Wanganui for the 1949 season next Saturday, when competition matches under the jurisdiction of t'ne Wanganui Rugby Union wilt begin. Team building is the order of the day and the indications are that there will be many new faces and a leavening of youngplayers to represent clubs. The senior competition will be contested by six teams—Wanganui and Old Boys, ilarist, Pirates, Kaierau, Technical Old Boys, and Waverley, and an even and interesting championship is in
prospect. With the All Blacks in South Africa, including two Wanganui players, Keith (iudsell and Peter Henderson, their fortunes will be followed with close interest. Nearer at home Wanganui s'nould be visited by some South Island teams this season as a return for the southern tour made by the Wanganui representative side last year. With the visit of an Australian side to New Zealand the season promises to be an excellent prelude to the visit of the British team next year. A summary of club prospects follows
