Lady Hindley, London, who has been visiting Mrs. Seton Montgomerie, Wanganui, has left Wellington on her return to England. Queen Salote of Tonga, who has been visiting Auckland, returned to Tonga on Thursday in the Matua. Mrs. Martin Smith, Carlton Avenue, left Auckland by air yesterday for the United States. Miss B. Burgess, Wellington, was a guest of her mother, Mrs. W. Burgess, Liverpool Street, lor the week-end. Mrs. lan K. Wilson, Wicksteed Street, has as her guests, Mrs. Dull Daysh, of Wellington, and Miss Sylvia Birch, of Masterton. Among visitors to Wanganui for the Easter reunion of the Collegiate School Old Boys’ Association were Mesdames J ullerton-Smith (Te Puke), Galpin and Sladden (Marton), Bull (Hunterville), Train (Waitotara), Barker, Lyons and Holden (Hawkes Bay), Williams, Parker and Dodds (Gisborne), Williamson, Gieson, Hair and Williams (Feilding), Nathan (Blenheim), Allen (Morrinsville), Cameron (Masterton), Coles (Hamilton), Buckley and Judd (Wairarapa), Kellick (Mangamahu), Haberlield (Hawera), Lethbridge (Turakina), Nelson (Hastings), Good (Tauranga), Wallingford, Shirtcliffe, Dykes and Tidswell (Wellington), Powell (Palmerston North). Import Ban On Nylon . . Stockings Lifted . . Under a Customs Department decision announced last week the ban on the import of nylon stockings is lifted and limited licences will be issued for imports from the United Kingdom The department has also advised that licences will now be issued for lisle hosiery, applications for which were called last December. These decisions have been made after strong representations by the New Zealand Retailers’ Federation to the Minister of Customs (Mr. Nash).
