WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— Seamen in the Canadian steamer Tridale, now in Wellington, will refuse to take the ship io sea until a settlement has been reached with the East Cc».f t shipowners in a current dispute with the Canadian Seamen’s Union. This statement on the Tridale seamen’s support for the East Coast shipping strike, was made last night by Mr. D. Williams, seaman’s delegate. He said that ships in 12 different countries, from Norway down to New Zealand, were now involved in the strike. The Tridale arrived from Napier on Thursday. It is expected that a call for waterside labour for handling the ship will be made tomorrow morning, but the attitude of the waterside workers has yet to be determined.
