Boisterous WeatherAfter a boisterous night with a high westerly wind and very heavy rain, the weather in Wanganui yesterday was fine from about 10 a.m. onward, apart from one or two showers in the early evening. The westerly abated at daybreak and after that variable winds were experienced till late afternoon. The wind went back to a westerly quarter. Last night it was fresh to strong, but the barometer was maintaining its rising tendancy. During the peak of the storm early yesterday morning the barometer had dropped to 29.40in5., which is rather low for Castlecliff. By 10 a.m. however, it had risen to 29.50in5., and at 10 o'clock last night, 12 hours later, the reading was 29.65in5. The night* was clear with a bright moon ami scudding clouds.
