LADIES’ GOLF TEAM WILL NOT TOUR UNITED KINGDOM

AUCKLAND. Last Night (P.A.) Owing to lack of finance the New Zealand Ladies Golf Union has decided not io accept an invitation to send a representative team on a tour of the United Kingdom next year. The English Ladies’ Golf Union recently invited both New Zealand and Australian unions to send teams. “The decision was made with great reluctance,” said the secretary of the New Zealand Union, "Miss N. MacCormick. “However, a probable team of six would have required between £3OOO and £4OOO for expenses and my committee felt that not having this vast sum it could not possibly request affiliated players to contribute the amount by a special levy, thus there was no alternative to the refusal.
