Federated Farmers Welcomes Mr. Izard’s Back-Country Scheme

Appreciation of the work of Mr N. M. Izard, president of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce, in formulating a scheme for the development of the back-country in the Wanganui area and of the research into this matter which the chamber is taking was expressed at yesterday’s meeting of th e Wanganui Provincial Executive of Federated Farmers. Mr C- D. Corliss, who is the representative of Federated Farmers on tlie executive of the Chamber of Commerce, said a committee had been set iup to further Mr Izard’s scheme. I Plans were being formulated to en- ; deavour to develop the back-country and the co-operation of Federated Farmers was sought. “The future of Wanganui is dependant on th e successful development of the back-country,” said Mr H. J. Morgan, who nioved that a letter of appreciation should be sent to Mr Izard and the Chamber of Commerce for their interest in the affairs of [farmers.
