ISRAEL AND EGYPT ARMISTICE

Reported Details Of The Terms LONDON. Feb. 21 (Reed. 6pm). The Jews have completely approved the draft of the Israel.-Egyptian Armistice, which has been flown to Tel Aviv, but the Egyptians withheld approval of a disputed clause on the future status of Beersheba, the .Tewish-held capital of the Negev, say informed conference circles at Rhodes. It is expected haggling over Beersheba may go on for a day or two, and may delay the signing of the armistice until the middle of next week. The main points of the draft are believed to be:— (1) The present front lines, with few exceptions, would be '‘frozen." (2) Almost the whole of the Gaza coastline would remain in Egyptian hands. (3) Israel would keep their forces in the eastern Negev facing Transjordan unt'il a settlement with King

Abdullah. (4) The Faulja garrison would be evacuated and the city taker, over by the Israelis. The Israeli Provisional Cabinet accepted the draft of the Israeli-Egyp-tian armistice, says the Associated Press Tel Aviv correspondent It is reported unofficially that the armistice provisions call for the withdrawal of both sides’ main military forces from the Western Negev only. Withdrawals do not apply to the Eastern Negev, where Jewish positions will remain unaffected.
