FIRST SECTION OF AERIAL FOR 2XA WANGANUI IN PLACE

The first step toward the establishment of a radio station in Wanganui has been taken with the start yesterday of the erection of the pre-fabricated aerial mast in the parking area at the back of the Drill Hall, between that building and the Savage Club Hall. Recently the concrete foundations were laid by the Public Works Department staff. Yesterday the first section of the mast was placed in position and the jiarking area is now out of bounds to city motorists. The Wanganui radio station will operate on’ a frequence of 120-0 kilocycles and will have the call sign 2XA.
