Minor Tennis Clubs Association Competition
This season six clubs have entered teams in the Wanganui Minor Tennis Clubs’ Association A grade competition and three clubs entered the B grade. Two new clubs, Castlecliff and St. James, entered teams this season. Results of inter-club matches played up to January 26, place St. Mary’s first in the A grade. St. Mary’s and Fordell share first place in the B grade competition. Details: — A GRADE. First round: Kai Iwi beat Cauis 16 sets to 8, St. Mary’s beat Fordell 21 sets to 3, Durie Hill beat Castlecliff 15 sets to 9. Second round: St. Mary’s beat Kai Iwi 20 sets to 2 (two incomplete), Durie Hill beat Caius 13 seis to 11, Fordell beat Cast led iff 17 sets to 7. Third round: Fordell beat Caius 15 sets to 8 (one not played), Durie Hill beat Kai Iwi 17 sets to 7, St. Mary’s beat Castlecliff by default. B GRADE. First round: St. Mary’s beat Fordell by default. Second round: Fordell boat St. Mary’s 15 sets to 7 (two unfinished). Third round: St. Mary’s beat St. James' 16 sets to 8. Fourth round: Fordell beat St. Mary’s 13 sets to 11.
