Mr. L. C. Young, of Wanganui, has been elected to the committee of the New Zealand section of the Empire Press Union. Mr. J. T. Coull, of Wanganui, will leave on the Mahana this morning for Lyttelton. Later he will proceed to Liverpool. Mr. Coull expects to return to Wanganui in six months time. Messrs V. G. Cripps and R. G. Oxley, Wanganui River, have been appointed honorary inspectors of scenic reserves according to a notice in last night's Gazette. — (0.C.).

Mr. Hugh Brownlie has been appointed registrar of marriages, births and deaths for the district of Bullsand registrar of births and deaths of Maoris at Bulls according to a notice in last night's Gazette.—(O.C.) Mrs. J. D. Dalgleish, matron of the Picardy Maternity Home, Wanganui, has been appointed matron of Ihe Raetihi Hospital. The appointment was made by the Wanganui Hospital Board at its'monthly meeting yesterday. Mr. D . D. Simpson Hunterville). chairman, the deputy-chairman, Mr. R. G. Taiboys, the medical superintendent, Dr. 11. L. Wi ldowson, and the secretary, Mr. K. Harris, have been appointed to represent the Wanganui Hospital Board at the annual conference in Wellington next May, of the Hospital Board’s association of New Zealan.d.

Mr. W. V. Dyer, of Lower Hutt, has been re-elected chairman of the Massey Agricultural College Board of Governors, and Mr. L. J. Wild, oi Otaki, vice-chairman. Mr. Dyer and Professor V. J. Chapman, of Auckland, have been appointed representatives of the board on the Council ot Ihe New Zealand School of Agriculture, M r Dyer having been reappointed to that position and Professor Chapman replacing Mr. A. K. Turner, of Auckland, who has been granted leave of absence by Ihe board to enable him to visit the United Kingdom this year.
