CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE REPORT

CROSSBREDS ON PAR WITH N. ISLAND CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA) —The official report issued by the Christchurch Woolbrokers' Association in conjunction with the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission says: “The second main Christchurch wool sale was held today and a catalogue of over 30,000 bales was offered. The selection consisted of average to good, with a fair proportion of super styles, although tl# bulk of the offering was showing signs of dust. “A full bench of buyers attended the sale, but competition was not animated except for super and speciality lots. Local mills were keen to procure their usual supplies, and most of the choicest lines_ fell to their bidsMost of the lots were sold at auction and there were few passings. “Prices for fine halfbreds and merino were very firm. Medium and strong halfbreds were irregular and considerably easier than in December. Crossbreds appear to be on a par with recent North Island sales. All classes of piece wools, especially fine qualities, made very satisfactory prices. “Following is the official range of prices :
