TENSENESS IN IRELAND
LONDON, Feb. 36 (Rec. 7 pm) —Some Northern Ireland Ministers believe that if anti-partition agitation is not suspended the Irish Republican Army may violate the borders, reports Reuter’s Belfast correspondent. A tense situation has not been improved by the Eire Government’s attack on the elections and the position will be anxiously watched between now and April 18, when the Republic of Ireland Act comes into force.
Observer.? believe that the Prime Minister of Northern Ireland (Sir Basil Brook), on the strength of his sweeping victory at. the polls, will call on the British Government to tell Eire that, no further purpose will be served in continuing the attack on partition. Political circles are suggesting that. Britain, Australia. New Zealand and Canada should withhold exchange of citizenship rights until Eire censes to be “openly hostile” to Ulster.
