Urban Farm Lands Court To Sit In Taihape Next Week
TAIHAPE, Last Night (0.C.)-Twenty-one objections to the rating in the borough will be heard at the sitting of the Urban Farm Lands Assessment Court at Taihape on Thursday next.
Mr. A. Coleman, S.M., will preside. The assessors will be Mr. E. W. Spooner (Govt.), and Mr. V. Smith (Taihape Borough Council). The town clerk (Mr. W. Hudson) received notice today that Mr. Smith’s appointment had been gazetted. OPPRESSIVE HEAT. Thursday’s heat was surpassed today when the sun shone through a heavy smoke haze. On Thursday the temperature in the shade was 74 degrees, and today it was 78. SCHOOL BARRACKS. From Tuesday until Friday the Taihape District High School cadets have been in barracks. On Thursday they were inspected by Brigadier L. W. Andrew, V.C., Officer Commanding Central Military District. A comprehensive course of instruction was carried out under Sergeant Manson (Area Officer) and Sergeant Seddon (Wanganui), and Corporal Crist (Wellington).
